This is the first lecture on digital photography and imaging, so Mr. Fauzi introduced us to photoshop and how we will use it for the class.
He also explained the uses of photoshop like it could express creativity, restore old images, change photo colors, rectify mistakes in photographs, and he brief us the module and the projects that we will need to do later on.

Instructions: For this week we are assigned to pick 3 of our favorite graphic design work from pinterest, there are no limitations on the theme and designs that wee choose. We are also assigned to describe the design and expressed it. Below are the 3 graphic designs that I choose.

Description:
I was first attracted by this poster because of the red background color, which I think isn’t that common. It also has an interesting visual that explains clearly the contents of chai.

The poster expressed:
This illustration aims to introduce chai as a new replacement for coffee.
This design visually tells the contents of chai, which also highlight how natural chai is.
There are also written descriptions of its contents that are not too long and also not too short, perfect for the poster.
Design #2
Description:
When I first saw the poster I was attracted to the funny looking fish alongside other interesting illustrations.
This makes me want to be a part of the festival.
The poster expressed:
This is a poster for a blue fish tuna festival.
It has an overall japanese retro vibe.
Various colors pop up and illustrations overlap with each other.
It has a unique illustration of a fish holding a camera which grabs the people’s attention.

Description:
This design catches my eyes because of its unique colors and great visuals. This is a poster based on "Howl's Moving Castle" and I think that this design gives off another perspective on the movie.

This design is unique as it contains small palettes of color(orange, off white, gray, and black). This tells me that we don’t need a lot of color to make a good design.

Reflections
In this task we were asked to look at pinterest and it's been a while since I actually use it. Although this task aims to let people know what kinds of design that we like, I also reminded on how we should always look for inspiration and reference from other people's work. Looking for them is a part of the designing process, which is why it's very important.
