Task 3 (Type Exploration & Application)

09.06.2025 - 16.07.2025 (Week 8 - Week 14)

Rationale: The font "BRANCHES" is a decorative font which, just like its name, was taken from branches. It's goal is to be used in movie posters, specifically that of the horror/thriller genre that uses the forests/woods as it's settings. The font is made to have an eerie and scary look in order to express/convey more of the genre and setting of the movie.

Reflections

Experience
Overall, this module is a bit of a challenge for me. Everything seems to go in a fast phase, way faster than the previous one is semester 1, especially for the first task where we need to make 8 typographic system within the time frame of what seems like a week. That first week was a bit of a shock for me, however as time goes by, I began to catch up with the fast phase and began to manage my time more efficiently and still giving the best quality for all my work.

Observation
I observe that in this module, it is important to look at the details. In Task 3, to export the letters into a font the original letters (back in illustrator) should have no mistakes. There were small mistakes in my illustrators files which ended up making unwanted shapes or spaces in my extracted letters. This small mistakes leads to a huge one, which requires me to redo the process again and again.

Findings
Overall, I find this module challenging as it makes me think and work twice as hard as I was before. However because of that I learned a lot, I learn how to manage my time better, work efficiently, and be more creative. I am grateful to learn this module as it shapes me to become better and better with every task that I do.
